SITUATION

Many automobile owners develop a deep, sometimes emotional, connection with their cars, especially with luxury automotive brands. As a company with a long-established reputation for innovation, our client wanted to explore ways to use mobile technologies to create an even deeper connection with their customers.

 

To develop more creative ways to use mobile and web applications to meet this goal, the client team asked Digital Foundry to participate in a Digital Strategy and Ideation workshop to consult on both existing strategies and new ideas and to develop an implementation plan that would allow for future development.

 

SOLUTION

During the initial workshops, Digital Foundry worked with key stakeholders to review strategic objectives, discuss the company’s vision, and brainstorm broad ideas for projects that might fulfill that vision.

 

With deep experience in both web and mobile technologies, Digital Foundry was well positioned to help inject new ideas as well as technically refine and validate existing concepts. Leveraging this collaborative effort, Digital Foundry and the client team were able to turn many abstract ideas into solid concepts ready for implementation planning.

 

Often times, ideation is divorced from reality, pushing the limits of the company’s capabilities rather than advancing their offerings. To ensure that this project didn’t fall into that same trap, we rooted ideas and findings in the reality of our client's technical capabilities and goals. This also allowed Digital Foundry to create an implementation plan informed by existing infrastructure, current capabilities, and desired future offerings. 

 

RESULTS

While helping our client explore a wide variety of ideas for integrating customer needs with technology, Digital Foundry:

 

  • Validated concepts:  Digital Foundry helped identify and refine concepts and provided technical validation.
  • Aligned concepts with the big picture: Digital Foundry and the client team worked hard to ensure that the ideas under discussion would align well with the existing project roadmap.
  • Develop a plan: Digital Foundry worked hard to ensure that the implementation plan not only fit with Mercedes existing processes, but was also well rooted in the existing technology infrastructure.
  • Innovation

    Our client's Research and Development team worked with Digital Foundry to explore and develop forward-looking concepts.
