TWC Business Class

expanding web site management capabilities

Time Warner Cable
Business Class

Time Warner Inc., is a leading global media and entertainment company with over 10 million Customers.

Challenge: Implement custom web site management tools efficiently

After the successful launch of the TWC Residential Web site, Time Warner Cable began examining the ways its Business Class division could improve its Web presence.  Time Warner saw that Business Class would benefit from Web site management tools similar to those used by Residential; however, the Business Class Web site requirements were significantly different.  Time Warner needed industry experts to analyze their current capabilities, identify the technologies the business site required, and implement a Web site solution that satisfied Business Class requirements.

solution: Adapt and add tools to a successful web site management system

After completing a detailed Current State Assesment, Digital Foundry recommended a hierarchical admin framework that would allow the TWCBC divisions to educate, to showcase, and to serve. In order to leverage Time Warner’s existing Web site management investments, Digital Foundry recommended customizing the extensible technology used in Time Warner Residential’s admin framework.

Digital Foundry engineers identified the technology that could be borrowed from Time Warner Residential and designed additional tools to suport Business Class business practices.

Their customized admin framework meets all of the Business Class requirements while sharing a common code base with the Residential system.  The new Web site management tools allow Time Warner Business Class to increase their sales opportunities and go one to one with their customers.  This capability positioned Time Warner as a leader in the commercial cable space.

Benefits: improved roi and reduced maintenance and support requirements

Digital Foundry’s approach to the Business Class Web site project – leveraging proven technologies and customizing them for the unique requirements of the commercial market – reduced the time and resources required to produce the new Time Warner Cable Business Class Web site. Time Warner also benefits from having two frameworks that share a common code base.  Using customized versions of the same admin framework requires less maintenance and support resources than two silo systems would demand, and yet the specific requirements of each division are still satisfied.
