CHallenge: unwieldy data

Synopsys invested large sums to buy research on 35,000 potential candidates, but the data was unwieldy for its recruiters.  They needed a tool to enable their recruiting team to efficiently work through this stranded research and convert raw prospects into real candidates.

Digital Foundry Consulting partnered with Synopsys Human Resources to fully assess the challenge and conceptualize a solution.  Working closely with recruiters and managers, DF Consulting developed the functional requirements and technical specifications necessary for HR Research Manager.  End-users were constantly consulted throughout the design process to solicit their valuable feedback.

Digital Foundry Engineering built HR Research Manager as a Web application, running on Windows with a SQL Server.
A custom contact manager enables Synopsys to drive the process of locating candidates and selling them on the company.  Online statistics allow Synopsys to look at the overall progress made on processing the database, while real-time reporting lets users and managers alike view various database metrics.  A novel approach was used to manage lists with tens of thousands of names, many with limited or questionable information. The result is a new browser-based, front-end tool for sourcing candidates that enables Synopsys to fully leverage its investment in prospect research from any of its international offices.
