A few of paramount’s memorable pictures from the last fifty years include raiders of the lost ark, the godfather, grease and, of course, the star trek movies and television programs.

CHallenge: multimedia archives

Paramount Digital Entertainment, a division of Paramount Pictures, wanted to build Star Trek Continuum, the official interactive site dedicated to all Star Trek incarnations.  The site needed to be the most extensive online source of information about Star Trek, featuring comprehensive archives and activities surrounding all Star Trek motion pictures as well as the TV series.  The vision for Continuum was a Website where people could boldly go online to explore strange new worlds and meet new life forms.

Solution: An Interactive Experience

Paramount Digital Entertainment commissioned Digital Foundry to plan, implement and deploy the Star Trek Continuum Website.  Digital Foundry conducted research with the “trekkie” community to help scope the functionality needed to support Paramount’s project vision.  Multimedia was used to take Continuum visitors into new dimensions.

Audio clips, video clips, animation, full-screen graphical menus and multidimensional chat rooms were implemented to immerse visitors in the warp speed adventure of Star Trek. Star Trek fans were given the ability to look up and view episode information. This information includes biographies of the characters as well as behind-the-scenes information and bulletins on upcoming Star Trek projects.

The development of Continuum accomplished Paramount Digital Entertainment’s vision by creating a unique and highly interactive customer experience.  Avid Star Trek fans now have access to boundless Star Trek information and an online forum that allows interaction with other like-minded “trekkies.”
