Nokia is the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones and has recently begun to expand their business by investing heavily in online services to complement and enhance the mobile device experience.
Challenge: Exploring the potential of new web-based functionality
Nokia wanted to explore a number of online service options quickly and efficiently. While they had some Web-based assets, they wanted to explore additional online experiences and plan for future functionality. Nokia needed a team of consultants and engineers that could gather requirements from numerous stakeholders around the globe and explore the feasibility and potential added value of new online experiences in a limited timeframe.
solution: Rapidly Develop Prototypes for Proposed Functionality
Digital Foundry was hired to work with Nokia and its innovation partner to create a series of prototypes for Nokia’s ideal multimedia experiences. The prototypes demonstrated the Web-based tools Nokia could offer its mobile device users and provided code that could be developed for large-scale use at short notice. To build the prototypes quickly, an expert rapid development team used SCRUM principles to investigate and develop a prototype concept.
In order to coordinate feedback from the many Nokia stakeholders involved in the project, Digital Foundry made collaboration easy with a tool that captured comments
